The Three Counties Art History Group is run by a small group of Art Enthusiasts on a non-profit making basis. It is open to all. A series of weekly lectures given by expert Alice Foster M.A. is offered 2 or 3 times a year. The group is of around 30 members. New Members are welcome and do not have to sign up for every course of lectures that is run. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, meetings have been suspended but members remain in touch through Alice’s regular email articles. We aim to resume our format of Monday afternoon lectures, presented by Alice as soon as it is safe to do so.

The scope of the lectures is wide-ranging and explorative, with each theme being discussed across six lectures, providing detailed discussion and great interest. Alice expertly blends the social and political context with comments and insights into the painterly skills of the artists, presenting with an engaging and friendly manner.

Alice Foster is an experienced and inspiring speaker, having lectured at the University of Oxford, Department of Continuing Education, for many years and is an accredited lecturer with The Arts Society in the UK and in Europe. Alice is President of the Northleach Society, and in 2018 she became an Arts society lecturer on Fred Olsen Line cruises. Alice lectures for events provided by the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford.
Our Meetings Meetings are held on Mondays from 1.45 to 3.45 with a short break for refreshment. The cost for the 6-week term is £60.00 - £70.00 depending on the number of participants. Occasional Study Days with talks by various historians of The Arts are arranged
